Terms of Use
By using MakeReadme, you agree to these terms. They're short and written in plain language.

The service
MakeReadme is a free set of tools for creating GitHub profile READMEs and for viewing summaries of public GitHub profiles (share cards, GitHub Wrapped, developer persona and profile roast). There is no account, and the service is provided free of charge.
Your content
The README you create is yours. You can use, change and publish the generated Markdown however you like, including commercially. You are responsible for what you put in it, and for having the right to use any text, links or images you add.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- use automated scripts to send large numbers of requests to the site or its API routes;
- try to disrupt, overload or break into the site or the services it relies on;
- use the roast, persona or card tools to harass or embarrass other people. The roast tool is meant as light-hearted fun about public profile data.
We may block access that harms the service or other users.
Third-party services
The tools rely on GitHub's public API and on third-party image services (badges, banners, stats cards and others). We don't control these services, and they may change, be rate-limited or become unavailable. Results such as scores and personas are generated automatically from public data. They are for fun and guidance, not an assessment of anyone's skills.
MakeReadme is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by GitHub, Inc. "GitHub" and other names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.
Ads and support
The site may show ads, affiliate links to partner services (see the Privacy Policy), and links for voluntary support (Ko-fi). Supporting the project is optional and gives no extra features. How data is used for analytics and ads is described in the Privacy Policy.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it working and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free or that results will be correct. Always review your README before publishing it.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, MakeReadme and its author are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from using, or being unable to use, the service.
Changes
We may update these terms or change the service. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page, with a new "Last updated" date.
